The Bird Cage Saloon first opened its doors in 1969. However the locals refer to it as 'the cage'. The saloon's walls are adorned with old photographs, paintings, taxidermy, and several birds hence the name. The founder of the Bird Cage was internationally acclaimed taxidermist and some of his pieces can still be found in the Smithsonian today.
